Jai Opetaia is a 24-year old southpaw boxer from Sydney and of Samoan-Australian descent. At the age of 16, Jai Opetaia competed at the 2012 London Olympics and became the youngest boxer to represent Australia in the Olympics. As an amateur, he became the Junior World Light Heavyweight champion in 2011.
Jai turned professional in 2015 and since then, he dominated the heavyweight and cruiserweight divisions. He held the New South Wales Heavyweight championship from 2016 to 2017, before stepping down one weight division and winning the Australian, OPBF, IBF World Youth, WBO Asia Pacific, IBF Pan Pacific cruiserweight championships. His last match in May 2019 gave him the vacant IBF Inter-Continental cruiserweight title.
At 24-years old, Jai Opetaia is just getting started in his professional boxing career.
