Emmanuel ‘E-Man’ Carlos (born July 29, 1992) is an Australian pro boxer from Paddington, New South Wales. The professional boxer has a Polynesian background, Samoan and Cook Islander but grew up in Australia.
Carlos grew up around sports with his father being a professional fighter. However, Carlos actually began his sports career in rugby league. Whilst playing for the Melbourne Storm NRL SG BALL team, Carlos dislocated his shoulder several times and decided to get a shoulder reconstruction. He was later picked up by the Melbourne Storm under 20s but re-dislocated his shoulder during pre-season and needed another operation. After numerous dislocations and two shoulder reconstructions, Carlos decided to hang up his boots and that would be the end of his rugby dreams. However, Carlos wasn’t done pursuing a career in sports and set himself the challenge of becoming a professional boxer.
The orthodox boxer made his debut in the middleweight division in March 25, 2017, and won the fight via technical knockout. Carlos currently holds an impressive 12-1-0 record. Carlos suffered the only loss of his career to Dwight Ritchie in 2018 after taking on the fight with a week and a half notice.
At present, Carlos holds the Australian Victoria Middleweight title, OPBF Silver Middleweight title, the International Boxing Federation Pan Pacific Middleweight title and the International Boxing Organisation International Middleweight title.
