Born in Cameroon, Rivan Cesaire is an Australian pro welterweight boxer based in Melbourne, Victoria. He is a former National champion, IBO Asia Pacific champion, and WBA Asia Welterweight titleholder. He currently holds a 17-5-1 record and is in indefinite hiatus since September 2019.
Rivan started professional boxing in October 2007 and has fought in 23 bouts. At one point in his 11-year career, he won 8-straight bouts including the championship match against Tim Hunt in September 2011 for the IBO Asia Pacific Welterweight Title. Rivan won the belt via split decision.
In June 2014, Rivan was able to bag the vacant Australian Welterweight Title against Samuel Colomban. He held the belt for more than three years until 2017, winning three title defense bouts in a row. His success in the ring didn’t stop there. In September 2018, he battled Xingxin Yang in Changsha China and snatched took home the vacant WBA Asia Welterweight Title.
